How To Cast Richard In Your Next Film

Denise writes:

“I’m sure many of you will have heard of fantasy football? Well I’ve discovered this site where you can create your own fantasy film and see how it fares against others.

Okay, so you don’t “actually” get to make a film. What happens is that you have a budget of 70 million and you can pick a director and 6 stars, then name your film.

The year is divided into seasons and at the moment the next season starts in July. Then, according to how the real films your stars are in perform at box office (scoring uses both US and UK top tens), this determines your film’s place in the league.

Catch is that you have to have 7 people and can only spend 70 million – Hugh Grant costs £14 million, Richard £8 million and Hugo Weaving £18 million.

So who’s Hugo Weaving you cry?! Well Hugo plays the Elf King in The Lord Of The Rings trilogy as well as appearing as the main baddie in the Matrix films.

I was trying to find a cheaper actor as I couldn’t afford Lawrence Fishbourne or Keanu Reeves. It turns out that I couldn’t afford Hugo either!”

If you fancy creating a film here’s the URL to the website: Fantasy Film League. You can only create one film per season but it “plays” for a year.

Gary has more to add on the matter:

To anyone who is interested, I have started a Little League in the FFL. It’s called “The REGiment”, interestingly enough, and the number for it is 1021. If you want to join send me a private e-mail at Geordies@aol.com for the password.

So all of you budding fantasy film producers hop to it!
