Monsieur N Release Dates & Premieres
The DVD release in of “Monsieur N” is on the 3rd December 2003. Note that this is the French release of the DVD and there are actually two versions for sale.
The Collectors Edition is a two disc set (Region 2) with the audio in French & English and also includes French Subtitles. Disc 1 contains the actual film, while disc 2 features a “Making of”, Interviews with Antoine de Caunes, Philippe Torreton and Stephan Eicher, a historical documentary, a photo gallery and story-boards, and also a projets d’affiches (which, if I looked it up I would know much more about).
The other DVD release is one disc only, and does not include the extras.
The film will also have it’s U.K. theatre release on the 30th January 2004.
“Monsieur N” also had it’s Australian premiere at the Canberra Film Festival last Thursday night and I apologise to those Aussie fans who missed it as I only found out today.
On a “brighter” note for Aussie fans, Stephen Fry has been currently doing the talk shows and major sporting events here in Australia and promoting the upcoming cinema release of his directorial debut, “Bright Young Things”, which will have it’s Aussie premiere on Boxing Day (26th December).
Talking from the live telecast of the Melbourne Cup racing carnival yesterday, Stephen likened the event to something that the main characters in the film would feel perfectly at home with. Unfortunately for Stephen, however, lady luck passed him by as the horse he bet on (the favourite no less) came last in the big race. Still he, and the other 123,000 people at the track (including Dominique), didn’t seem to mind too much as the weather was great, the bubbly was flowing and a great time seemed to be enjoyed by all.
I should add that I managed to back the winner but, with only a $2 bet for a win and a place, I have no plans to retire just yet :-)
