Based on true events from Richard E Grant’s childhood, Wah Wah is set at the end of the 60’s as Swaziland is about to receive independence from Great Britain. The film follows the young Richard at 12 through his parents’ traumatic separation.
“Entertaining, engaging and effortlessly endearing, Grant’s look back in bemusement is an unforced and surprisingly incisive account of the disintegration of British rule in Africa – He draws nuanced performances from a top-drawer British cast, providing further proof that actors often do make the best directors” – Empire
“A deeply impressive debut feature about how much families love, abuse, hurt each other and live to laugh another day” – Film Review
Thanks Maria.
