Richard, accompanied by a chimpanzee named Ruby, has appeared in a South African made television advertisement supporting AIDS Awareness and the use of condoms.

In the commercial both actors are propped up against a bar, with REG talking to Ruby about how much they both have in common. Ruby steals the show though by stating that although humans and chimpanzees have much in common, there’s no excuse for humans to act like chimps when it comes to AIDS.
