According to Gillian Anstey of South Africa’s Sun Times, Richard is set to star in a film of Olive Schreiner’s famous novel The Story of an African Farm.

The Story of an African Farm is about three childhood friends growing up on a Karoo farm in the mid-19th century. A TV series based on the novel was screened more than 20 years ago. Filming begins in mid-September on a farm midway between the Karoo towns of Matjiesfontein and Laingsburg.

Upon asking REG what the lowdown was on this film and whether or not anything was confirmed, he answered:

It’s “true” in that it is all planned on paper, but until they have all their finance in place and I am on the plane to Cape Town in September, I am wary of confirming it, in case it collapses – but hey, if it’s “out there”, it’s always easy to retract.
