British actor Richard E. Grant is reading women’s books to try and understand his wife better.

The star has revealed he has been taking tips from a book entitled ‘How To Kill Your Husband (And Other Handy Household Hints)’ to be a better husband to wife Joan.

He told Britain’s Q magazine: “It’s a very funny novel. I’m taking it as a self-help manual. Having survived 24 years of marriage, I’m hoping it’ll help me avoid being murdered in my bed by my wife.”

Earlier this year, Richard revealed he is desperate to travel into space. The ‘Withnail and I’ star is hoping pioneering entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson will invite him to travel on the Virgin Galactic SpaceShip – which is set to rocket into space in 2010 – so he can fulfil his boyhood dream.

He said: “Ever since I was 12, when I listened to Neil Armstrong’s historic words beamed back from the Moon on the radio, it has been an ambition to take a ride into outer space.”Robbie Williams, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Moby are also reportedly hoping to be aboard the interstellar trip.
