Ticketmaster:- What was it about the play Otherwise Engaged by Simon Gray that sparked your to return to the stage?
REG:- Great role in a great play that deservedly won best play of the year when it first came out.
Ticketmaster:- What have you missed most about performing live in the theatre?
REG:- The electric charge you get encountering a live audience, and as it’s a comedy, the audible response.
Ticketmaster:- What was the last show you saw in the West End? Did you enjoy it?
REG:- Death of a Salesman and Mary Poppins, both of which were first rate.
Ticketmaster:- What has been your favourite role so far in your career?
REG:- Writing and directing WAH-WAH, which is released in cinemas next spring.
Ticketmaster:- What is your ideal stage role?
REG:- The one I am doing now in Otherwise Engaged.
Ticketmaster:- Your character in Otherwise Engaged is descibed as “Witty, Urbane, Sophisticated and Selfish” – Is this anything like you in real life?
REG:- That’s for other people to judge.
Ticketmaster:- What is your ideal way to spend a Saturday in London?
REG:- Run in Richmond Park, Lunch in Portobello, see a play in the West End and eat dinner at The Wolsey.
