Richard E Grant, Doctor Who mastermind Steven Moffat and former Twickenham MP Vince Cable are among the newly announced names for the inaugural autumn festival from September 24 to 28.
They join the likes of Margaret Atwood, George Monbiot, James Wong, David Nicholls, Andrew Marr, Bill Bryson, Judith Kerr, Great British Bake Off presenter Mel Giedroyc, Michael Morpurgo and Jacqueline Wilson.
The iconic gardens will host the famous writers for a series of talks and events in its stunning surroundings, with topics including science and nature, food and drink, horticulture, non-fiction and a children’s programme.
Write on Kew’s programming directors said in a statement: “Books and nature both stimulate the imagination and take us to new and unexpected places; and what better place than Kew Gardens, a science institution and botanic garden to provide a new London platform for debate, discovery, creativity and a flow of ideas.”
