Richard E. Grant To Appear In More Doctor Who Episodes In 2013
According to BBC America’s press release, Richard E. Grant, who appeared in the Doctor Who Christmas episode ‘The Snowmen’, will be returning to the fold sometime in the next eight episodes. Richard played Dr. Walter Simeon, head of the Great Intelligence Institute and the mastermind behind a plan to take over the world with killer snowmen.
In the Christmas special, The Great Intelligence was a disembodied life force, voiced by Sir Ian McKellen, who allied with Simeon in the plot to take over the world. The Great Intelligence first came to light as a villain during the Troughton era (Doctor Who # 2). It also made a cameo in the 20th anniversary adventure ‘The Five Doctors’.
Doctor Who premieres March 30th on the BBC, and on BBC America, as part of their “Supernatural Saturday” lineup.
And, speaking of things ‘Doctor Who’, here’s a retro pic from the 51st Annual BAFTA awards in 1999 featuring REG and Alex Kingston, who plays River Song.
