He has been melting the hearts of his social media followers by enthusiastically documenting his award season journey.

And Richard E. Grant, 61, continued to display his excitement as he touched down in Los Angeles ahead of Sunday night’s Oscars with his plus one for the event – his daughter Olivia, 30.

The actor, who has earned a Best Supporting Actor nomination for his role in Can You Ever Forgive Me?, couldn’t wipe the smile from his face as he brought a piece of home with him by toting his luggage in a UK print suitcase.

Fun times: Richard E. Grant, 61, continued to display his excitement as he touched down in LA ahead of Sunday night’s Oscars with his plus one for the event – his daughter Olivia, 30.

Despite the long haul flight, Richard didn’t sport a hint of fatigue as he landed in Los Angeles.

Richard looked in high spirits as he carted along his suitcases, one which boasted a graphic European print, etched with designs of Paris’ Eiffel Towel and London’s red phone box.

He was joined by his daughter Olivia, who nailed airport chic in a camel-coloured coat and jeans.

With her hair swept into a casual bun, she happily followed her dad Richard as they headed to their hotel.

Happy: The actor, who has earned a Best Supporting Actor nomination for in Can You Ever Forgive Me?, brought a piece of home with him by toting his luggage in a UK print suitcase.

It wasn’t long before Richard took to his Instagram platform with a collage of celeb-packed selfies at an Oscar nominees dinner.

He was seen grinning ear to ear as he posed with the likes of Laura Dern, Olivia Colman and Regina King.

This comes after Richard took to his Twitter and Instagram to share a sweet snap with his daughter Olivia on the plane to America on Thursday.

Nominated for the Best Supporting Actor category for his role in the comedy drama, Richard put on an animated display in a number of hilarious selfies.

In the adorable post, he wrote: ‘Haha. Trying to look laid back and casual about the Oscars weekend ahead, but unable to quell our glee!’

While Richard looked dapper in another image which he shared on his Instagram stories, and saw him beam as he contemplated heading to LA for the ceremony.

And the actor also gushed about the possibility of meeting singer Barbara Streisand at the event, as he shared the news that she would be one of the hosts.

In January, the actor also took a selfie outside the singer’s home and shared a fan letter he sent when he was 14, which then prompted the singer to respond to him and gush about his new film.

Beaming: In the gushing post, he wrote: ‘Haha. Trying to look laid back and casual about the Oscars weekend ahead, but unable to quell our glee!’.

Fan boy: The actor also gushed about the possibility of meeting singer Barbara Streisand at the event, as he shared the news that she would be one of the hosts’.

Fan: In January, the actor shared an image of himself smiling happily while posing for a picture outside 76-year-old Streisand’s home in Los Angeles.

His posts comes after Richard shared a snap of his invitation for the grand ceremony, which saw him receive a slew of responses from fans rushing to wish the actor luck on the big night.

Richard will compete against Mahershala Ali (Green Book), Sam Elliott (A Star Is Born), Sam Rockwell (Vice) and Adam Driver (BlacKkKlansman) for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar.

The star hasn’t held back from sharing his joy at being nominated for the prize, and has been documenting his awards season adventures with plenty of star-studded selfies.

Richard recently recalled his most bizarre awards show experience in an interview with Variety, saying that it was unreal ‘going to the Governors Ball and while speaking to Emily Blunt for the first time in my life, being interrupted from behind by Tom Hanks saying, “You’re perfect in your movie, you’re wonderful, you should win everything.”

‘That takes you by surprise. Standing directly next to Tom Hanks was Steven Spielberg. Then someone tapped me on the shoulder and said, “Do you want to meet Lady Gaga?” That was completely unbelievable.’

Going on to talk about his preparation for the Oscars, Richard revealed he hasn’t prepared a speech because he thinks that it’s a ‘foolish’ thing to do.

Drama: Can You Ever Forgive Me? sees Melissa step into the stilettos of celebrity biographer Lee Israel who makes her living profiling A-listers in the dramatic thriller film.

The Star Wars: Episode IX actor said: ‘Most certainly not. That would be foolish. The man that has to have the speech planned is the man who has had to come up with four different speeches for the four different awards that he’s already won.’

Can You Ever Forgive Me? sees Melissa step into the stilettos of celebrity biographer Lee Israel who makes her living profiling A-listers in the dramatic thriller film.

The writer chronicles the lives of stars including Katharine Hepburn, Tallulah Bankhead, Estee Lauder and journalist Dorothy Kilgallen.

Yet in a shocking twist, Lee turns her art form into deception when she falls on hard times and her work is no longer able to get published.
