Tooth – Press Release by Redbus Film Distribution
Comedy (Retired Fairy)
An all star comedy cast feature in "Tooth"
Redbus Pictures (temporarily known as Helkon SK) and Archangel Films are delighted to announce the start of principle photography on "Tooth". A fantasy kids’ adventure from first time director Ed Nammour, starring Harry Enfield, Stephen Fry and Jim Broadbent, Richard E Grant, Phyllida Law and Vinnie Jones. The film is currently shooting in and around Pinewood.
"Tooth" is produced by Susie Brooks-Smith, Zygi Kamasa and Simon Franks, from an original screenplay conceived and written by award-winning commercials director Ed Nammour.
"Tooth" tells the story of a young, feisty Tooth Fairy called Tooth, who misses the Fairytopia of old and the magic that was at the heart of it. Long ago Mrs Claus, the Fairy Queen, had taken magic and fled to the real world to live amongst humans, after she had watched Fairytopia become consumed with greed and a love of money.
"Tooth" teams up with a couple of kids and seeks help from a number of former fairies who are also living incognito amongst humans, in the search for Mrs Claus. However, not only are they being hunted by "Plug" a terrifying fairy hunter and his posse, they are also racing against the clock. The countdown is on for Christmas, and Christmas stockings around the world will go empty if magic is not found.
"Tooth" boasts an all-British stellar cast: Harry Enfield ("Kevin & Perry Go Large") stars as the sinister Fairy Hunter, Plug. Jim Broadbent ("Gangs of New York", "Iris", "Moulin Rouge!") is the voice of the Rabbit, the overwrought boss of Fairytopia. Stephen Fry (who stars in the forthcoming Merchant Ivory production "Le Divorce", "Gosford Park", "Wilde") joins the cast of "Tooth", straight from his theatrical directorial debut on "Bright Young Things", and stars as Pedro, the guardian of retired fairies.
"Tooth" also stars Sally Phillips ("Bridget Jones’s Diary", Emmy and Bafta award winning "Smack the Pony") as Mom. Tim Dutton ("Bourne Identity", "Ally McBeal") as Dad and Phyllida Law ("Saving Grace", "Peter and His Friends") as the magical Mrs Claus.
