Withnail For Waterford A Success!
It’s all over. We came, we saw, we raised a bunch of money and had the time of our lives!!
Well that was the most fabulous 2 weeks of my life! 13 members of the REGiment met for the first time, and we all had a great party at the Withnail for Waterford function in London on February 7th, then we met with the wonderful REG for lunch the next day. I kept a diary of the event, as well as taking a bunch of snaps. Click here to read all about it and meet the bunch of carrots who attended. Nikki had some thoughts and pics, read them here. Carolyn did too, click here. Sue talks about the lunch here, and Polly the snogger gets sprung here. I’ve also put a mugs gallery of who we spotted here.
In other news, REG has made quite a few appearances to promote the event, including a bunch of press and TV appearances. I’m trying to keep up with them all, but here’s some to keep you going. An article in the Daily Mail can be found here. (Thanks Nikki for typing). The Big Breakfast appearance here. REG gives a personal message about the World Wide Fund for Nature here. He went on The Parkinson show, look here and Chris Evans’ TFI Friday show here.
Phew!
REG is currently in production on three new Scarlet Pimpernel episodes, which is great news for those of you who were asking. Wifey is dead though, killed off to please people like Nikki who couldn’t stand her! Martin Shaw is not appearing in it either, but I’m sure they’ll find a another decent baddy.
REG has also had his Wah-Wah story greenlighted for production. It’s a movie he’s written about his life in Swaziland and plans to direct the film, but not appear in. He’s already travelled to Swaziland last week to scout for locations and he also gave the general assembly at the Waterford scool, to rapturous applause when they found out the Withnail for Waterford event raised over £100,000, which is fabulous news, and thanks so much to everyone who helped. There are plans for a video of the Withnail for Waterford event, so I’ll keep you posted as I hear more about it. I’m also trying to find out how much each auction item went for.
If you’re starved for REG viewing in the meantime, The Match is now out on video and available to rent, in the UK at least.
I think that’s it, I’m still quite jetlagged and need to process all the information and emails I recieved whilst I’m away, so plenty more to come.
