Richard has appeared in over 80 films and television programs, such as Withnail And I, The Scarlet Pinmpernel, Jack & Sarah, L.A. Story, Dracula, The Hound Of The Baskervilles, Gosford Park & The Iron Lady. In 2005 he directed his first major release, Wah-Wah.

This short film by director Garrick Hamm based on Charlie Fish’s short story of the same title made it’s private premiere recently at BAFTA’s Princess Anne Theatre.
Richard portrays a man called Oliver, who after dating a succession of women without finding his partner for life experiences a mid-life crisis and decides to marry himself.
The cast also includes Warren Clarke (Bishop Zatarga), Emilia Fox (Sarah) and Celia Imrie (Oliver’s mum).
The Man Who Married Himself will be touring film festivals.

Here is a “teaser video” for The Chemists upcoming “This City” music video. The voiceover is, of course, done by Richard and apparently he is doing a spoken word version of the actual opening lyrics for the song (which coincidently is the opening track of the new album).
The video has been skilfully crafted by Mi, a video effects and animation studio in Manchester, U.K. The Chemists are signed to Distiller Records and the new single is due for release early in 2010.

Richard E Grant is a patron of the children’s charity and arts provider, Eastside Educational Trust.
Eastside Educational Trust is a registered children’s charity and London’s leading youth arts provider. Their aim is to introduce children and young people to the arts, culture and heritage in London and to inspire and motivate young people to realise their full potential, by offering a comprehensive range of creative and cultural experiences.
The charity not only helps the future generation to develop their artistic skills and cultural understanding, they also introduce important life skills, such as leadership, responsibility, commitment and team work.
Each year Eastside Educational Trust provides more than 100,000 hours of arts activities to young people from many of the schools, colleges and youth groups throughout London and the South East of England. They also run national and international projects linking young people in the UK with their peers around the world. These projects are designed to foster cultural understanding, encourage modern foreign language learning and to support a global exchange of ideas and creativity.
Other patrons include Frederick Forsyth, Anish Kapoor, Zoë Wanamaker, Adrian Lester and Katie Derham.
