OK, you’ve probably noticed by now that a few things have changed around here. For the most part everything seems to be working fine, but there are some sections that are still the old site though. These will cause a few problems in the short term with the navigation but I’ll try to fix things up as soon as possible. I just felt that it’s better to have the Filmography section still up in case anyone wanted to see the films that REG has been in. It needs updating though but I won’t get around to it until I re-do all of the files for that section. Then again I could just direct people to the Internet Movie Data base in the meantime? I might think about that if things get a bit difficult for people.
Now some of the graphics are a bit jagged but I’ll worry about those when The Temple is fully functional again. Likewise some of the text and link colours are a bit “iffy” at this stage but I’ll fix them up later as well. My main concern right now is getting everything back to a semblance of order again. Sorry things are like this but I felt it was better to have at least some of the site operational rather than shut it all down for testing and tweaking.

Articles Section under construction.
Trying to organise and implement the new website changes offline has proven to be very difficult, due primarily to the nature of the files and the vast amount involved. One problem is that the new files need to “overwrite” the old ones in order to work (and not cause tens of thousands of 404 errors each month). With this in mind I feel I need to go “live” with certain sections of the site so that the kinks can be ironed out. This will mean that certain parts of the site will be largely inaccessible during that time. The Articles Section will be the first section to be reconstructed.
I apologise for any inconvenience that people may experience.
I should also add that, for a while, The Temple will look a bit like a dog’s breakfast as the new sections slowly replace the old. This basically means that there will be two “styles” of The REG Temple as the transition occurs – making it look rather odd and disjointed. Again I apologise for this and will try to make the transition as painless as humanly possible.
There will probably also be lots of small things that will need to be ironed out over the next couple of months so I ask for patience during this time.
Thank you,
Cameron.

Sue W. has suggested that the Reel Life program portion of the Edinburgh Film Festival event may not actually be a screening of Wah-Wah but Richard talking live and answering questions possibly? I’m going to verify with Richard to see if that’s the case. I’ve still yet to hear back from him on the special London screening of Wah-Wah as well. Stay tuned.

Young Performer Magazine – July 2005

Hollywood star and acting legend Richard E Grant thrilled a group of Stagecoach students in May as he handed out valuable advice along with autographs.
The star of films like cult classic Withnail and I and Jack and Sarah, talked about discovering his passion for acting in a school play at the age of 11. As a young boy, he would make pretend theatres out of shoe boxes and puppets out of lolly sticks!
He warned that it could be a tough career, with 95% of actors, dancers and singers facing unemployment, but his love of the profession was unchanged. Richard said he always felt nervous in front of a stage audience and preferred films – for the past five years he’s been working on Wah-Wah, a film he wrote and directed himself about his upbringing in Swaziland, which comes out in the autumn.
He also said that the lucrative Argos ads he’s recently starred in had funded his dream to make the film. “Believe in yourselves, particularly when you’re starting out – it will lead others to believe in you too!” he said.
