The foxy ladies of Fountain Lakes are back!

Kath Day-Knight (Jane Turner), daughter Kim “Kimmy” Craig (Gina Riley) and hapless best friend Sharon Strzelecki (Magda Szubanski) are on a globe-trotting path to world domination in their first feature film, Kath and Kimderella.

Watch the just-released trailer for the “ritzy fairytale of love, lust and revolution” now. It’s noice, different and unusual.

From the Melbourne ‘burbs to the glamorous coast of Italy, these born movie stars are the travel companions you wish you had. Unless you’d prefer homewares snobs Prue and Trude, who also pop up in all their silver-tressed glory.

It’s the first we’ve seen of Australia’s most beloved comic duo since Kath and Kim’s fourth season in 2007. New episodes are expected to air later this year after the film’s release, The Australian reports.

Kath and Kimderella also stars Glenn Robbins as Kath’s hunky hubby Kel Knight, Peter Rowsthorn as Kim’s on-off husband Brett Craig, and English actor Richard E. Grant as a new character named Reg.

It’s in cinemas September 6.

Richard In “Words Of The Titanic” On ITV

Richard appears in the documentary, “Words Of The Titanic”, which features readings from the diaries, accounts and letters of its passengers and crew. In the programme, Richard plays a passenger from second class who survived the tragedy.

The programme also features Roger Allam, Anna Madeley and Claudie Blakley.

The readings range from the thrill of arriving on this most luxurious of ships, to the post-collision calm and lack of panic, to rescue and the eventual abandonment of hope for the survival of loved ones. With the real words from those who survived, or didn’t survive, the disaster, it’s a rather haunting prospect for a television programme.

Second class passenger, Lawrence Beesley (read by Richard E. Grant) was a science teacher on his first foreign trip. He recalled:

“There came what seemed to me nothing more than an extra heave of the engines and a more than usually obvious dancing motion of the mattress on which I sat. Nothing more than that – no sound of a crash or of anything else: no sense of shock, no jar that felt like one heavy body meeting another.”

Later on in the programme he recalled:

“She tilted slowly up until she attained a vertically upright position; and there she remained – motionless! As she swung up, her lights, which had shone without a flicker all night, went out suddenly, came on again for a single flash, then went out altogether.”

NewsOne.com – 9th April, 2012

Actor Richard E. Grant, singers Adele, Bryan Ferry and Sir Cliff Richard and music mogul Simon Cowell have unveiled self-portraits for a special art project marking Queen Elizabeth II’s upcoming Diamond Jubilee.

The tribute, which will use 100,000 paintings from stars and schoolchildren to make a giant image of the British monarch as she celebrates 60 years on the throne will be unveiled April 19, and is expected to smash a Guinness world record for most artists working on the same art installation, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

Adele’s painting, which incorporates false eyelashes, tin foil for earrings and the Union Jack, will be auctioned for charity May 12.

Boy In Full

As mentioned elsewhere in previous REG Temple reports, “Boy”, the short film starring actor Timothy Spall as a man whose son was killed while cycling on a country road will have a global audience numbering in the hundreds of millions this summer when it is featured during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.

The screenplay of the silent film, which is accompanied by a musical score by Alex Heffes, was written by doctor turned actor Prasanna Puwanarajah who received mentoring from actor Richard E Grant as part of British Airways’ Great Britons initiative. Richard E. Grant’s Novel Way Of Celebrating The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee

April7

Express.co.uk – 7th April, 2012

With both the Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee just weeks away, Richard E Grant has revealed how he plans to celebrate – by wearing novelty underpants.

“There’s nothing much that will get me feeling any more patriotic – I’m a UnionJack underwear man, seriously. And socks, I’ve got everything,” the 54-year-old actor tells Day & Night (Daily Express).

Despite starring in successful films such as Withnail And I and Gosford Park, Grant admitted his celebrity status didn’t help him get tickets for the Olympics.

“I’m a sports fanatic. I’m going with BA to the opening ceremony but I didn’t get any of the ticket allocations. I’ll be watching at home.”

“I applied for the diving, hurdling and running but was unlucky – although I’m still lucky as I’m going to the opening ceremony.”
